Youth Voices and Ideas Can Shape The Future
CPA, through its 1996-97 Youth Voices project and survey, found American 18-24 year olds to be concerned about important issues and ready to work where they can make a difference, but turned off by “politics as usual.” Engaging American youth – not only in politics but in the decisions that will shape communities, families and the economy – is the goal of the Student Issue Forum.
North Carolina State Representative Alma Adams will address the conference on Tuesday, October 27. State legislators from Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas will lead policy discussions. In four major areas: economic development, law, health issues and human services. Dr. Dorothy Harris, Vice President of Student Affairs at North Carolina A & T has been instrumental in planning the event.
