Wishes for a speedy recovery
John Gardner is the exemplar of leadership in public service. For more than
forty years he has led by example and written the core curriculum for those
who believe public services is a noble profession. John Gardner inspired the
vision that became CPA’s Flemming Fellows Leadership Institute, which seeks
to inculcate emerging state leaders with the insights and courage to follow
their convictions in solving public problems. His work in creating Common
Cause and Independent Sector, and building the Urban Coalition, has changed
our world.
