CPA Welcomes Policy Director Bernie Horn

CPA is pleased to announce that Bernie Horn has joined the CPA team as Policy Director. As a lawyer and political communications consultant, Horn has broad political experience including twenty-two years working with state legislators, campaigns and grassroots activists.

As a policy strategist, Horn has worked on a variety of issues including women’s human rights, gun control, universal health insurance, the Earned Income Tax Credit, anti-discrimination and labor reform—just to name a few.

Horn started working in state legislative campaigns in 1978. He directed efforts in state legislatures for Handgun Control, Inc. He has helped organize numerous coalitions in Maryland including a group that worked to increase cigarette taxes (used to deter smoking by minors by increasing cigarette taxes). Horn has worked with hundreds of state legislators. He has been interviewed many times and participated in live debates on CNN’s Inside Politics and various CNBC, MSNBC and C-Span talk shows. He has also testified in the U.S. House of Representatives and before many state legislative committees.

"Bernie brings us years of experience working with state legislators accross the country," said Ann Beaudry, CEO of CPA. "His knowledge and energy will enable state leaders to turn ideas into action."

Bernie Horn can be reached at (202) 387-6030.
