CPA Hosts WKKF’s Institute Without Walls

CPA Community Health Programs Director Nancy Epstein shares some of the challenges faced and the lessons learned from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Community Voices: Health Care for the Underserved project at the Community Voices Institute Without Walls, held at CPA in September.

Also pictured are Institute Without Walls Fellows Dr. Meryl McNeal from the Morehouse College School of Medicine and Dr. Sora Parktanjasari from the University of California-Irvine (center and right). McNeal, Parktanjasari and Dr. Arthur Hernandez of the University of Texas-San Antonio are Fellows in the program. With the support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, CPA has partnered with the Lewin Group to kick off the Institute Without Walls, a five-year program that will create a network of multi-cultured evaluators. These evaluators will bring a variety of resources and skills to the design and implementation of health systems change evaluations. Two new university partners will be a part of this program before the end of the year. Typically, research and evaluation teams have been dominated by racial and ethnic majority group members.
