CPA State Leader Brings Video Game Violence Issue to the White House

In response to growing concern over video game violence, Washington state Representative Mary Lou Dickerson (Flemming Fellow `98) introduced HB 1315, which would launch a public awareness campaign to inform parents that their children have easy access to ultra-violent video games.

"Though ratings [for violent video games] exist, they aren’t enforced. And mature games are marketed to children," says Dickerson of the ratings and distribution of video games.

Dickerson was commended for her leadership on this issue at an event in early June in the White House Rose Garden.
