Devolution Spurs New CPA Website

Share Your Ideas, Learn From Others at stateaction.org

The problem: progressive state policymakers—most with little staff, dealing with big issues in short legislative sessions—don’t often have time to make dozens of calls or surf the web in search of information on issues or innovative models used in other states.

The solution: www.stateaction.org.

There’s no shortage of information, but CPA knows that the key is making it accessible to busy citizen legislators who serve part-time and yet must meet escalating demands due to devolution. stateaction.org is designed for them—an easy entry point to good ideas, model legislation and information from across the 50 states. A user-friendly tool to help leaders "move ideas to action."

stateaction.org provides access to up-to-date state data and synopses of key policy issues complete with model legislation, talking points and summaries of additional information with direct links to other progressive organizations. CPA’s "collaborative policy organizing"—alliances with national and state-based policy organizations to make their information available to legislators at this new website—will help build momentum for progressive ideas.

Join this nationwide network—log onto www.stateaction.org. Use this communications hub as a forum for sharing ideas from your state—via the "Feedback" button, or email CPA’s webmaster, John Kennedy, at [email protected].
