Mexican Group Visits CPA to Compare Devolution Strategies

Building connections between local politicians and policy experts across traditional boundaries is a challenge facing any democracy. This was one of the messages brought to CPA by members of a visiting Mexican delegation sponsored by the Ford Foundation.

Delegation members, who came to learn how devolution is being handled in the U.S., included experts from universities across Mexico. In Mexico, resources and information are available to elected officials primarily through university programs rather than through the non-profit sector, as is the case in the U.S.

Project representatives hope to see the forums expand to all Mexican states in the next phase of the project.
