Health Care Conversions Topic of April Issue Forum

State elected officials, health care advocates and others who have a stake in the current debate on health care conversions should plan to attend CPA’s Issue Forum on Health Care Conversions and Low- Income Communities. This event, part of CPA’s Issue Forum series, will be held April 16, 9 am-noon, at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC, in conjunction with NCSL’s Assembly on Federal Issues.

Discussion will focus on how communities are impacted by recent trends toward non-profit health care organizations becoming profit-driven businesses. Panelists and participants will take a closer look at how this process occurs, how consequent profits are handled and the effect on community services.

Panelists will include representatives of the health care and insur
ance industries, consumer and advocacy groups and policymakers from states involved in health care conversions.
