CPA Women’s Program Unveils 1998 Policy Briefing
Book
To promote policies that answer the needs of women, families and
communities, CPA has released the 1998 Women & the Economy Policy
Briefing Book, a step-by-step issue resource
guide to CPA’s Economic Agenda for America: Women’s Voices for
Solutions. The Briefing Book, released by CPA’s
Women & the Economy Program, is a comprehensive package of policy briefs,
model legislation, relevant facts and resource contacts on issues of vital
importance to communities and families.
The Economic Agenda for America builds on the issue areas of family
and work, health and security, economic self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship —
issue areas defined by CPA’s 1996 Women’s Voices for a New
Economy survey and refined by participants at CPA’s Women’s Economic
Leadership Summit at the White House last April. A few of the resources included in
the briefing book are: model legislation on the prohibition of insurance
discrimi
nation based on genetic testing and domestic violence, background on
alternative work schedules, a list of child care bills pending in Congress and
information on establishing state family and individual development accounts.
For this project, CPA has partnered with women elected officials
and grassroots leaders from across the U.S. to construct an agenda built on
proactive policy solutions that meet the needs of women, families and communities.
Copies of the Women’s Voices for
Solutions Policy Briefing Book are available for $25. To order, call Anne
Mosle, Director of the Women and the Economy Program, at CPA, or
email [email protected].
