Action Network Links State Legislators, Strengthens and Promotes Progressive Agendas

New Policy Leaders Action Network to Help State Legislators Build Foundations for Social and Economic Justice

The new, bi-partisan Policy Leaders Action Network, launched recently by CPA, provides state legislators and officials across the country with effective tools to wrestle with state issues and the many domestic policy decisions moving from Washington to the states. Action Network Chairs are State Rep. Spencer Coggs (Wisc.), State Sen. Charles Horn (Ohio), Connecticut Secretary of State Miles Rapoport and State Sen. Allyson Schwartz (Pa.). Well-funded and well-organized groups on the far-right bombard legislators with an array of publications and model legislation reflecting an agenda which attacks just and sustainable community growth, impedes the preservation and renewal of resources and threatens secure and healthy families.
The Action Network is made up of, led and owned by state legislators and other elected leaders. Members will be linked to ideas, organizations, model legislation and other information via the Internet for fast and timely communication and instant access to the data they need, when they need it.
“Legislators and officials across the country are a tremendous resource. I’ve seen that first-hand,” said Ann Beser. “I’m very excited to help carve out and build a program that will support their on-the-ground efforts to push a just, fair and sustainable economic and social agenda in the states.”
