State Officials Break New Ground in Biloxi

More than 20 African American state legislators and leaders from across the south gathered on December 3 at the inaugural CPA-sponsored Community Policy Forum in Biloxi, Mississippi, to fine-tune their leadership skills and look for creative problem-solving techniques.

Participants examined how to effectively use the media to communicate progressive ideas and agendas by critiquing their own on-camera interviews and developing talking points and messages.

Legislators pledged support for multi-state introduction of model community development legislation which aims to combine public partnerships with private investment as a way to expand entrepreneurial efforts in these needy communities. To obtain a copy of the model community development legislation, call CPA.
