SECPLF Featured at Mississippi Black Caucus

Framing an action plan to move forward policy issues suggested by participants — including current initiatives on motor voter registration, teacher recruitment, children’s health insurance and criminal justice — was the goal of CPA workshops at the January meeting of the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus. Two workshops, one for legislators and another for members of the faith community, developed groundwork laid by Mississippi legislators at CPA’s Summit on State Issues in December.

Participants plan to reconvene after the legislative session concludes in early April to mobilize grassroots support around these and other issues.

Contact us to receive your copy of the 1998 SECPLF Policy Briefing Book, for background on affirmative action, children’s health and public service privatization, to name a few of the issues included. Copies are available for $25. Call Darold Johnson at CPA or email [email protected] to order.
